Vianey Avila — Restoration Program Manager
Vianey Avila is the Restoration Program Director for the Yuma office. She joined the FPC team in October of 2013. Vianey attended Northern Arizona University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Biology in May 2013. As an undergraduate, she attended a NSF funded summer internship at St. Olaf (Northfield, MN). She worked with small mammals and the effects they can have on prairie restoration. She always enjoyed the outdoor life, yet after experiencing the internship, she realized that she loves working outdoors. Before joining the FPC team, she was working at Arizona Western College co-teaching an Environmental Science course. She still works at AWC while working at FPC. In her spare time, Vianey enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling. At FPC, Vianey heads the management and maintenance of riparian and wetland restoration sites in the Yuma East Wetlands and in the Laguna Conservation Area.
