The Clark County Desert Conservation Program sought assistance with a full-scale restoration effort for a tract of the Muddy River in Nevada. Fred Phillips Consulting, in collaboration with Oxbow Ecological Engineering, conducted the initial ground and soil analysis of the site in 2017. Armed with extensive information about the challenges presented by the site, Clark County was able to shift the project to the design phase, with the active restoration phase to follow shortly after.
Fred Phillips Consulting, in collaboration with Natural Channel Design, has provided Clark County with a native planting design that carefully considers the challenging dry conditions on the site while maximizing planting success rate. The restoration will be done in 2 phases, with a series of irrigation furrows strategically and efficiently conducting just the right amount of water to ensure planting and seeding success.
